About the Role:
As a Customer Service Advisor for the Idea Store, you will be the first point of contact for customers, assisting them face-to-face, over the phone, and through digital channels. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, responsive, and cost-effective services that meet the diverse needs of the community. Working within a team, you will ensure that our library and information services are accessible and welcoming to all.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing information, advice, and assistance to customers, ensuring their satisfaction and meeting service standards.
* Assisting customers with library services, stock management, and ensuring resources are up to date.
* Promoting the Idea Store services and engaging customers with learning and reading activities.
* Contributing to the delivery of the Libraries Connected Universal Offers (Culture, Digital & Information, Health, Reading) and supporting the Libraries Connected 'Children’s Promise.'
* Assisting customers with self-service systems and helping those with special needs.
* Supporting outreach activities and community events to promote the Idea Store service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering solutions and signposting to appropriate resources.
* Maintain high levels of customer care and handle challenging situations professionally.
* Promote and organize reading initiatives, events, and educational activities for both adults and children.
* Lead on stock management, including restocking, promotion, and withdrawal of materials.
* Ensure the Idea Store is clean, welcoming, and fit for purpose, following health and safety guidelines.
* Provide cashier duties, handling financial transactions in compliance with audit requirements.
