We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist with musculoskeletal (MSK) experience who is willing to develop their skills through our 2-year training programme. In this role you will be involved in assessing and treating our NHS colleagues with a mix of musculoskeletal caseload in a clinic setting as well as rehabilitation in the staff health & fitness centre.

The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service includes OH Physiotherapy Service, OH Nursing/Physician Team, Wellbeing Team, Moving and Handling Team, Admin Team, and is part of the Human Resources Directorate.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing timely and appropriate specialist physiotherapy assessment/diagnosis/management and rehabilitation for our employees with acute and long-term complex musculoskeletal conditions. You will be responsible for supporting employees with MSK conditions to remain at work or return in a timely manner. The post holder will also design and deliver health promotion sessions to prevent or reduce MSK conditions within the workforce.
As part of the role, you will act as a senior member of the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Team providing a responsive, effective, and coordinated service in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. You will be involved in clinical supervision and continuing professional development including the 2-year training programme. You will support and champion other related work programmes within South Tyneside and Sunderland e.g., clinical governance, risk management, and health and safety.
The Team works across all Trust sites, with the main departments being situated on South Tyneside District Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital sites, with our staff Health and Fitness centre on the Sunderland Royal site, which has a fully equipped gym, studio with over 22 classes per week, and steam and sauna facilities. Trust shuttle buses operate throughout the day between the two main sites. We offer flexible working, the department's current opening times are 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday.
