GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Finance Project Controller to manage financial accounts for turnkey projects, supporting Project Directors and Managers. Responsibilities include cash flow management, revenue recognition, invoicing, and financial reporting. The role requires close collaboration with project teams and oversight of financial movements. The position is based in Stafford, UK, and involves coordination with various stakeholders to ensure accurate financial processes.
Job Description Summary
Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition. To manage the consolidated financial accounts of the allocated turnkey projects and support the Project Directors / Project Managers and other project functions as a finance partner.
Responsibilities
1. Accountable for all financials on the project after the tender phase (from contract award date to project close-out/ Final Acceptance Certificate).
2. Maintain full knowledge of all financial movements regarding revenue, margin, and cash. Ensure that such information is consistent, approved, and reconciled regularly in the ERP systems.
3. Define the billing plan (invoice and progress payments) at project start and the revenue recognition plan as per data provided by Cost Control.
4. Invoice customers and create related invoices in the ERP system.
5. Ensure accurate foreign exchange coverage throughout the project life.
6. Check, control, and monitor movements in Actual and Committed Costs.
7. Manage and forecast cash movements monthly. Track overdue cash-in status and ensure follow-up action plans are in place.
8. Provide input on claim valuation and support Project Director/Project Manager on financial issues.
9. Provide all required information for External/Internal Auditors.
10. Ensure timely and correct booking from order booking to project completion.
11. Prepare and participate in cash sessions and develop strong relationships with project controllers.
12. Implement controlling tools and ensure compliance with financial processes and internal controls.
13. Prepare and attend consolidated Project Reviews and produce all financial project reporting as requested.
14. Ownership of timely invoicing with documentation and cash collection on the project.
15. Accurate, timely production and consolidation of project financial statements.
Minimum Requirements
1. Demonstrated years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the projects business.
2. Qualified Accountant – or working towards CIMA.
3. Experience in accounting in a project environment.
4. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
5. Knowledge of an ERP system, particularly SAP, is preferable.
6. Fluency in English is essential.
