Paddock and Longwood Family Practice are looking for a full time Medical Secretary who is motivated to making a positive contribution to high quality healthcare in our practice and who can work well in a small team.
We are looking for a medical secretary who can also work independently and support our clinicians with processing patient referrals, utilising local referral pathways as appropriate.
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about the patient's journey and can deliver a quality service. Candidates should have good communication skills, both verbal and written, interpersonal skills, and robust IT skills.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job include, but are not limited to:
* Providing general/medical secretarial support to the Partners/GP Registrars, Pharmacists, Locums, and health professionals involving word processing, audio typing skills, and general clerical work.
* Utilising SystmOne as the main clinical system.

We are a very friendly practice, situated in Paddock, Huddersfield. We strive to provide the highest standard of Health Care to our practice population of 9,000 patients.
We have 4 partners, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 Nursing Associate, 1 Health Care Assistant, and 2 regular locums, along with a non-clinical team of 11.
We are very much involved with our Primary Care Network (PCN). One of our partners is the clinical lead, and the PCN manager is based at Speedwell. We work closely with local member practices. Our wider team also comprises practice Pharmacists, social prescribers, and Mental Health Workers.
We are a training practice with 8 GP Registrars and also support 3rd Year Medical Students for 9 months of the year. We are happy to support and develop the right person in their role.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths.
* General letter or referral typing skills.
* Professional in approach.
* Advanced keyboard skills including a high standard of word processing skills (e.g., RSA II or equivalent).
