An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Cancer Waiting Times Manager who is enthusiastic, has a high attention to detail, is self-motivated, forward-thinking, and wants to embrace change in line with the National Long Term Plan for cancer.
You will oversee the Trust’s Cancer Patient Tracker Lists (PTL) and the management of pathways to identify bottlenecks or barriers to care and ensure robust escalation processes and mitigations are delivered where appropriate, providing support to the divisional management teams to allow for performance improvement.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading and managing the Cancer Waiting Times Practice Manager and the team of Cancer Waiting Times Co-ordinators, Data Clerks, and Navigators ensuring day-to-day functions are carried out efficiently and timely.
* Leading on validation of performance and attainment of targets, working collaboratively with divisional management teams to deliver high-quality services to patients and staff in cancer care across Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
* Responsible for performance monitoring, accurate data collection, and validation of all cancer pathways and submissions to national reporting bodies, such as the Cancer Waiting Times system and Cancer Outcomes Services Dataset, in line with reporting obligations and deadlines.
* Liaising with the Trust's Information Team to ensure the monthly Cancer performance and COSD uploads are sent within the allocated time scales.
* Overseeing the Trust’s Cancer Patient Tracker Lists and management of pathways, identifying bottlenecks or barriers to care, ensuring robust escalation processes and mitigations are delivered where appropriate.
* Supporting the Cancer Services Manager and Cancer Waiting Times Service Development Manager in delivering department work programmes by monitoring performance and identifying and taking remedial and preventative action as appropriate.
We are a team of Co-ordinators, Navigators, and Data Clerks working within Cancer Services on the main Torbay Hospital site and work closely with site-specific clinical teams including Consultants, Specialist Nurses, Operational Managers, and administrators.
The team is directly line managed by the Cancer Waiting Times Practice Manager who is managed by this post holder. Consideration will be given to hybrid working, 1-2 days a week from home.
