This role is central to providing exceptional pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, with a primary focus on Siemens Factory Automation products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and in-depth knowledge of Siemens TIA software, along with hands-on experience working with automation systems. Technical Sales/Support Engineer £40,000 - £45,000 Pension, Healthcare, Training, Bonus North East Ref: 21974 Provide prompt and accurate technical support to customers on Siemens automation solutions, including PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, networking, and cybersecurity Assist the sales team with technical expertise during customer engagements, solution proposals and system configurations Guide customers in the application, integration, and troubleshooting of Siemens automation products in real-world scenarios Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to automation hardware, software, and networking systems Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring technical satisfaction and addressing queries related to products and applications Provide training sessions to customers and internal teams on Siemens TIA software and other related products as needed Work closely with internal teams such as sales, product management, and engineering to provide tailored solutions for customers Technical Sales/Support Engineer - The Person: In-depth knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal (Total Integrated Automation) Hands-on experience in working with PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, and industrial networking Understanding of industrial cybersecurity practices and their application in automation Proven real-world experience in automation, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of control systems Previous experience in a technical sales or support engineering role is highly desirable Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline Siemens certification (e.g., TIA, PLC programming) is a plus Located in the North East, this role would be commutable from Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough and surrounding areas.
