Salary starting from: £37,000 Siemens Smart Infrastructure Grid Software business is looking for a Project Engineer to join our existing friendly and diverse engineering community. This role would allow you to be based in Rochester, Kent.Working as part of our Metering Delivery Team the successful candidate will be expected to travel to Rochester regularly to deliver projects. The role will also entail infrequent visits to customers and sub-contractors throughout the UK and occasional overseas visits conducting Site Acceptance/Integration Testing at clients facilities. The role: Produce and lead Design and Change Management of new metering systems CoP1, CoP2 and associated Grid system monitoring tailored systems/solutions (CoP3 upwards). Perform FAT, SAT and SIT procedures coupled with successful completion of customer witness testing requirements. Identify and handle project risk and put control in place to mitigate with Project Managers. Support and assist the management team to supervise the progress of works and ensure that the development, design construction, testing and financial targets are met, and effective remedial action is produced where required. Ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of project work, in order that safe for successful project implementation. Lead and supervise the planning and progress of works in conjunction with Project Managers in relation to timeline and budget and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing requirements are met. Act as the Project Engineering Manager on a large project or on several medium-sized projects Lead and deliver on-site installation and commissioning works at customers premises What will you bring to the role? •Previous experience as a Project Engineer in Distribution, Transmission industry or similar field [high voltage, protection, automationetc]. •An ability to interpret and develop SLDs, GWDs and AUTOCAD drawings to project specific customer requirements. •Understanding of electrical metering systems and network communication systems with a good working knowledge of Elexon Codes Of Practices. •You will bring your passion, organisation skills, and a desire to learn and grow - we'll provide the training to help unleash your potential and open the door to a new career. You will need an Electrical Engineering qualification (ie. degree / HNC / apprenticeship) and stakeholder liaising experience with sufficient communication (verbal & written) skill set.
