The Role
Production Manager with up to 5-6 years’ experience required to work within an established Supply Chain team to oversee manufacturing of sports apparel in different territories.
We are a global brand with a long-standing presence in the sportswear industry, seeking an experienced and proactive Production Manager to work in our office in St Albans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overseeing manufacturing and production processes
2. Creating weekly production schedules together with key suppliers and ensuring these schedules are followed
3. Monitoring suppliers’ performance by having regular communication and “check-in” calls
4. Striving to reduce costs and increase productivity across all product lines
5. Communicating any problems or obstacles to COO
6. Negotiating best possible FOB prices ensuring company’s Gross Margin targets are met
7. Negotiating best possible payment terms with suppliers
8. Building strong relationships with key suppliers
9. Attending internal meetings to keep SportsPro team up-to-date with ex-factory dates and production statuses
10. Working closely with Senior Product Developer and Design Team
11. Sourcing new suppliers if required
12. Sourcing new products/fabrics and trims
You are:
1. Proactive Production Manager with 5-6 years experience [ideally in Sports industry]
2. Comfortable with Excel and Sage
3. Understand open costings
4. A great communicator to suppliers in foreign territories
5. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work to a set critical path.
6. Able to drive daily to our head office near St Albans
