Job Description
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Building Services team, working on a diverse range of projects. You will be responsible for designing electrical systems that are efficient, sustainable, and tailored to client needs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and a commitment to sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical System Design:
* Develop and design electrical systems for various building projects, including power distribution, standby power, lighting, fire alarms, security, and communication systems.
* Create detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations using software such as Revit.
* Ensure designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
2. Technical Expertise:
* Work alongside Senior Electrical Engineers to provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
* Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and building services technology.
* Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify compliance with design specifications.
3. Sustainability and Innovation:
* Incorporate sustainable design principles into all electrical systems and projects.
* Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
* Participate in sustainability initiatives and contribute to the achievement of Ramboll's environmental goals.
4. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
* Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored electrical design solutions.
* Present design concepts and project updates to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other project partners.
5. Team Collaboration:
* Assist in the planning and management of electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
* Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive project solutions.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Building Services team and other disciplines.
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment.
About You
- Bachelor's degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional
qualifications
(e.g., IEng or working towards Chartership).
- Proven experience in electrical design within the building services sector.
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit, and electrical design tools such as Relux and Amtech.
- Good understanding of UK building regulations, standards, and codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
