OpCourage North - The Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is a provider collaborative delivering specialist mental health services to Veterans, reservists, and their families across the North of England.
The collaborative is made up of Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust as the lead provider, working with NHS partners Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, along with charitable organisation partners Combat Stress and Walking With The Wounded.
The OpCourage service recognises the importance of personalisation of the care journey for veterans and supports them in accessing the right care from the right services. OpCourage offers a range of specialist support and treatment for members of the armed forces community, which includes:
1. Helping to recognise and treat early signs of mental health problems, as well as more advanced mental health conditions and psychological trauma.
2. Providing support and treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use issues.
3. Liaising with charities and local organisations to support wider health and wellbeing, such as help with housing, relationships, finances, and employment.
4. Referring to other NHS services, where needed.
5. Recognising that family members may also need help and care and supporting them to access this.
Main Duties of the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Psychological Therapist (0.4 - Band 8a) within the OpCourage Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.
The post-holder is responsible for providing specialist psychological therapy to adult veterans within the service, providing specialist model-specific psychological assessment and therapy, in addition to clinical supervision, advice, and consultation to colleagues on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* An Honours Degree in Psychology recognised for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, or RMN, or equivalent degree-level qualification in mental health. In addition, post-graduate qualifications in psychological assessment and psychological therapy (e.g., Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Post-graduate diploma in CBT, IAPT High Intensity CBT diploma). HCPC registered practitioner psychologist or equivalent (e.g., BABCP registered CBT practitioner or member of an appropriate professional body).
Skills
* Specialist model-specific psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention skills.
* Skilled and competent in at least two evidence-based psychological therapies appropriate to the pathway.
* Substantial experience in psychological therapies in the field of adult mental health, including assessment, formulation, and interventions, and including work with service users with mild, moderate, severe, and enduring mental health problems.
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment of clients across a wide range of care settings and collaborative work with other professional groups, e.g., medical, nursing, social work.

Salary: £53,755 to £60,504 a year pro rata per annum.
