An exciting role has become available in our new project venue in Sherborne, Dorset, for a qualified teacher who wishes to work in a successful and expanding Alternative Provision. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, undertaking varied roles within the business:
1. Delivering bespoke education packages including basic literacy and numeracy functional skills to vulnerable young people who are currently unable to access a suitable education, or young people with an EHCP awaiting a specialist placement.
2. Supporting young people to engage in activities that promote emotional and physical wellbeing, as well as building important life and social skills.
3. Having a flexible approach in engaging young people and children in formal and informal learning.
The successful applicant will be empathetic, patient, and understanding, and be passionate about empowering young people to improve engagement and enthusiasm towards learning by using innovative strategies. Teachers with a background in youth work or working in a Pupil Referral Unit are desirable but not imperative.

The successful candidate could find themselves teaching online, in libraries, community centres, or at our Hub in Sherborne. As such, you will require your own car with business insurance (mileage is paid) and understand that you will be driving young people between locations and be prepared to work across BCP and Dorset.
Candidates must have Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Innovate Dorset Ltd are offering a 38.5-week, term-time only, permanent position Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. Tutors will benefit from allocated admin time each week to support with planning and report writing.
