Job overview
Medical Retina Specialty Doctor
Applications are invited for a full-time Specialty Grade in Medical Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The clinical sessions will include Naevus/Medical retina face-to-face and telephone clinics.
Main duties of the job
The full-time job plan will consist of 8.25 clinical sessions, including 5 Medical Retina and Naevus clinics, 1 session managing administrative work, and 2.25 sessions in the Clinical research facility.
Person specification
Education & Qualifications
* FULL GMC Registration OR eligible for Full Registration with the GMC with License to Practise at time of appointment.
* FRCOphth/MRCOphth OR equivalent.
Further Training & Knowledge
* Completion of medical retina fellowship.
* Competent in managing and organising high volume MR digital clinics OR coordinating PDT clinics.
Skills & Ability
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* Competent in performing cataract surgery (completed 500 independent cases).
Experience
* 4 Years full-time postgraduate training, with at least two in the Ophthalmology Specialty Training Programme or equivalent experience.
* Experience in managing patients with Medical Retinal conditions.
Personality & Personal Attributes
* Able to communicate well with patients & establish good working relationships with staff.
* Capacity to cope under pressure.
* Team player.
Due to the nature of this position, employment is subject to proof of eligibility to work in the UK, completion of a satisfactory DBS disclosure and two references.
