With our workload in the Fibre Network Build sector in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland increasing, GCU is excited to welcome a Planner to join our team in Glasgow.
The GCU Project Planning Team aim is to ensure that work scopes are appropriately planned and communicated meeting internal resourcing, NSRWA91 and client requirements. The Team will plan and co-ordinate works in accordance with Client release dates and GCU resourcing capabilities whilst meeting all NRSWA requirements.
What We expect of you:
1. You will conduct thorough site assessments with the client and local authority to ensure GCU can safely carry out its duties as per the design, while identifying any risks or necessary mitigations.
2. You'll be responsible for submitting TTROs and TM permits to the local authority ahead of time, making sure all notices align with the submitted permits.
3. You will maintain a three-week resource programme that aligns with the overall project schedule.
4. Additionally, you will need to request TM drawings from the internal team as required and respond to planning queries related to onsite issues or council-specific restrictions.
5. You will be experienced using MS Office, particularly MS Project and MS Excel.
6. Ideally, you will have previously worked as a Planner or in a similar role within the Utilities or Civil Engineering sectors.
7. You should be able to work effectively within a team and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. The role requires you to make fast and accurate updates to project programmes, and you will preferably have awareness of NRSWA planning requirements, though a willingness to learn is also acceptable.
9. Some business travel to the Highlands & Islands will be required.
