Purpose of the Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will act as the link between franchise business owners and Head Office, ensuring they operate their businesses effectively. You will support the continued growth and development of the franchise network, working alongside a team of BDMs to assist franchisees in their day-to-day business operations. This includes analysing sales processes and financial performance, advising, motivating, and training franchise owners and their staff to grow their business. The role also involves monitoring KPIs, producing insightful reports and plans, and ensuring accurate submissions to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
* Business coaching to develop and maximise franchise potential.
* Analysing trading situations and understanding franchisee profit and margins.
* Identifying barriers to business growth and developing strategies to overcome them.
* Ensuring business plans are implemented and followed for increased profitability.
* Providing professional advice, guidance, and support in business operations.
* Setting and monitoring sales, growth, and customer service in line with franchise agreements.
* Delivering training and support at franchise locations and Head Office.
* Supporting field training requirements and providing regional sales assistance.
* Assisting franchisees with prospecting, planning, pricing, and tender preparation.
* Providing training on internal systems to promote efficiency and productivity.
* Ensuring franchisees adhere to company standards and policies.
* Demonstrating a deep understanding of the franchisee/franchisor relationship.
* Sharing best practices and contributing to continuous improvement.
* Collaborating with key departments such as Key Accounts, Tendering, Finance, and Compliance.
* Providing reports to Senior Management and highlighting areas of concern.
* Onboarding new franchisees into the network according to standard procedures.
* Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety practices.
* Promoting company policies and best practices.
* Undertaking any other reasonable duties within your capabilities.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge
Experience:
* Previous Sales/Business Development experience is essential.
* Must have experience in grounds maintenance.
* Experience in a similar industry sector is preferable.
* Demonstrable business experience and commercial acumen.
* Financial accountability and/or P&L ownership preferable.
* Proven experience in driving business growth.
Skills / Knowledge:
* Right to work in the UK and a full driving licence required.
* Ability to engage with individuals at all levels of seniority.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
