The Audit Senior will handle a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, non-profits, and charitable organizations. This role is client-facing and integral to building strong, lasting relationships with business owners across the region. Working closely with the Audit Managers, the Audit Senior will play a key part in driving successful audits and helping to deliver a full suite of accounting services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end audit process, from planning to completion
* Conduct non-audit assignments, including accounts preparation and tax computations
* Manage job budgets and proactively address any issues with the Manager
* Utilize relevant accounting and audit software effectively
* Develop an understanding of each client’s business to ensure high-quality service delivery
* Mentor and support junior staff, providing constructive feedback and support
* Contribute to team development by sharing ideas for process improvement
* Maintain open communication with clients, Managers, and Partners on job progress
* Stay informed on changes in audit regulations, and share knowledge within the team

Requirements
We’re looking for candidates who bring a mix of skills and experience:
* ACA or ACCA qualification
* 2-3 years’ experience in an audit role, ideally within an accountancy practice
* Strong technical knowledge of audit and accounting standards
* Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage and Xero (knowledge of CCH and Caseware is a plus)
* Experience in charities and the academy sector (preferred)
* Advanced Excel skills, including vlookup, sumif, and Pivot Tables
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage professionally and personally with clients
* Organizational skills with high attention to detail

Working Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible, hybrid options available following probation.
