Engineering Project Manager Due to an ever-growing order book, and continual research and development projects, we wish to recruit an Engineering Project Manager. The main function of the role is to support the Director with day to day project management. The successful candidate will play a key supporting role in ensuring the successful completion of various projects. You will coordinate with other departments/personnel to ensure all aspects of each project are technically correct, installed to the highest standards and delivers on the customer brief. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel internationally, as required, depending on the project and customer site location. Job Description Project management of existing, new and R&D projects: Understand the scope for each project by liaising with the Director and other key personnel within the organisation Lead each project through a collaborative one-team approach Communicate with the customer, as required, in a professional and competent manner to keep them informed about project delivery Effective management of project timelines including managing risks to project delivery and communicating same Creating schedules of work for the week, organising work for each department, checking and updating progress daily Ensuring all project records and/or documentation/paperwork are maintained and updated on an on-going basis Ensure team members are in receipt of key documentation; tools, equipment, materials and training to meet the requirements of their role within the projects Work with the Purchasing & Stock Team to ensure effective management of purchases for project requirements to achieve customer expectations and project deadlines Dealing with Subcontractor issues as required Supplier management - dealing with issues, as required, in relation to supply and delivery of project materials Management of Shipping schedules for customer items Management of Travel schedules to ensure personnel and materials are available at the customer location for the successful installation and commissioning of machinery in line with contractual agreements Monday meetings organising, attending, updating, and dealing with any issues raised Accounts - Generating invoices/ quotes/ refunds as required Design - Dealing and assisting with design requirements, issues and meetings for all projects Ad-hoc: Staff issues Recruitment as required Person Specification This is a hands-on role which requires a team player with strong interpersonal skills. You will need excellent time management and prioritisation skills, and be flexible and resilient. Essential skills and experience Previous Project management experience is essential, ideally 5 years or more. Be familiar with contract documentation Demonstrable engineering expertise-Precision engineering experience People management experience Supplier management experience Read detailed engineering drawings for manufacture Maintain technical specifications Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills - verbal and written Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills An awareness of general Health and Safety regulations Overtime as required to meet project deadlines Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, internationally as required.
