IT Manager
Location: London - Initially Fully Onsite
Salary: £70,000 per annum
A prestigious London based Barristers’ Chambers, renowned for providing expert legal services across a wide range of practice areas are seeking a skilled IT Manager to join our team and ensure our technology infrastructure supports the work of our barristers, clerks, and staff.
Role Overview:
As IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our IT systems, and support services. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and security of the technology that enables our legal professionals to deliver exceptional services to our clients. You will lead IT projects, manage day-to-day operations and management of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day, 2nd Line IT support to barristers, clerks, and staff, ensuring a high level of service and rapid issue resolution.
* Implement and enforce best practices for IT security, ensuring the protection of sensitive legal data in compliance with industry standards.
* Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT hardware, software, and systems.
* Lead and manage IT-related projects, including software upgrades, system migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
* Provide training and guidance to staff on the use of technology, including legal case management systems and document management software.
* Conduct IT audits, maintain compliance with data protection regulations, and ensure business continuity in the event of a system failure.
* Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute IT strategies that support the Chambers’ objectives and growth.
* Manage a small team to ensure the best service to end users.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a similar IT leadership role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
* Experience providing 2nd Line Support in a pressured environment.
* Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, databases, and cloud technologies.
* Expertise in IT security, particularly in protecting confidential legal data and ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
* Experience with legal technology systems (e.g., case management, document management, legal billing software).
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with non-technical users.
* Leadership experience, with the ability to manage IT teams and provide direction and support.
* Relevant IT qualifications (e.g., ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft certifications) are preferred.
