We are seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and driven Ecologist to enhance our team’s ability to deliver a wide range of ecological services. This role offers the opportunity to provide expert ecological support to our prestigious clients across commercial, public, private, and governmental sectors.
The company is well established and respected within the industry, operating in many sectors providing unrivalled survey consultancy services to some of the largest blue-chip organisations in the UK.

Our office is based in South Yorkshire, but the role will require national travel.
Key Responsibilities:
* You would be working alongside a diverse multi-disciplinary project team offering planning and feasibility solutions for a multitude of existing clients.
* You will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering high-quality ecological advice, undertaking assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies, along with collaborating with various clients and planners.
* You will contribute to the growth of the ecological service by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and expanding on our current project portfolio.
* You will coordinate the team to ensure supplementary planning and feasibility reports are aligned and issued effectively.
Skills & Experience:
* At least 5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong focus on conducting surveys, assessments, preparing a range of ecological reports, and the project management of jobs.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Highly proficient with Microsoft Office packages.
* Sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice.
* A clear understanding of the planning and feasibility process is also advantageous.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Experienced in advising clients on Biodiversity Net Gain, understanding and use of the DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric and production of associated reports and plans.
* Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).
* Additional specialisms and qualifications may be advantageous.
* A full UK driving licence is a necessity.
