Multitrader – Maintenance Role Location : Chippenham or North-West England - desire for proximity to a cluster of REEL Cinema sites as the role requires coverage of multiple sites within a 200-mile radius. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining high-quality facilities, we are looking for a skilled Multitrader to join our Maintenance Team to support the upkeep of our cinemas and ensure they remain in excellent condition. Role Purpose The Multitrader will carry out a variety of maintenance tasks across REEL Cinemas sites, ensuring buildings are safe, well-maintained, and presented to a high standard. This role requires a proactive, problem-solving approach, working closely with cinema teams and management to maintain operations with minimal disruption. Key Responsibilities General Maintenance & Repairs ● Conduct routine inspections and general maintenance across multiple cinema and property sites. ● Identify, diagnose, and efficiently repair faults. ● Ensure all work is completed to a high standard while complying with health and safety regulations. Core Maintenance Tasks ● Electrical: Basic electrical maintenance, such as changing bulbs (advanced electrical work is a distinct advantage). ● Plumbing: Fixing leaks, replacing taps, unblocking sinks/toilets, maintaining water heaters, and installing new appliances. ● Joinery: Repairing/replacing doors, hinges, handles, shelves, and general carpentry work. ● Painting & Decorating: Touch-up painting across interior and exterior spaces to maintain a presentable environment. ● Tiling & Flooring: Replacing or repairing tiles, flooring adjustments, and fitting new carpet tiles where required. ● Building Maintenance: Minor structural repairs, assisting with furniture and equipment moves, and general upkeep. Operational & Health & Safety Duties ● Conduct routine checks on cinema exteriors and interiors, ensuring fire exits, doors, signage, and common areas meet safety and operational standards. ● Inspect screens and auditoriums, checking seating, flooring, lighting, step lighting, and safety handrails. ● Monitor and maintain service areas and back of house to ensure clear access and compliance with safety regulations. ● Inspect and report on roof conditions, ensuring no debris, damage, or build-up that could impact ventilation or operations. ● Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in safe working order. ● Liaise with the Maintenance Manager on repairs that require specialist contractors. Working Hours & Travel ● 42.5-hour working week, with flexibility required to meet business needs. ● Occasional out-of-hours work and overnight stays will be required. ● This role involves traveling to sites within a 200-mile radius - a company vehicle will be provided. Essential Skills & Experience ● Proven experience in a Multitrade role, with a mix of skills in electrical, plumbing, joinery, painting, tiling, and general building maintenance. ● Ability to work independently, using initiative to solve problems on-site. ● Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance in a commercial environment. ● Excellent time management and project management skills. ● Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with site teams and management. ● Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided). Desirable Qualifications & Attributes ● Recognised trade qualifications in one or more disciplines (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.). ● Experience working in a leisure, hospitality, or retail environment. ● Knowledge of cinema operations would be an advantage but is not essential. ● Friendly, approachable, and customer service-oriented attitude. Equipment & Compliance ● You will be responsible for maintaining all tools and equipment provided for the role. ● Ensure all tasks comply with company policies, health and safety laws, and relevant industry regulations.
