Senior Property Lawyer
Location: Hastings
Hours: Full time, hybrid available
Salary: £DOE
Key Tasks & Activity Standards of Performance
Managing on a day to day basis a caseload within the Transactional Team which includes all aspects of the conveyancing transaction from instruction to completion, registration and closure of the file.
Daily tasks include:
1. Ensuring due diligence in all areas of processing a residential property transaction
2. Using the OMS to progress cases efficiently and to the timescales set
3. Accountable for all dealings with other lawyers and other legal aspects on all property transactions
4. Assessing risk on every transaction by using skills to make pragmatic decisions and ensuring appropriate legal advice is given
5. Drafting legal documents, to include:
1. Standard Precedent Letters
2. Contract packs
3. Exchange letters
4. Freehold AP1s
5. Freeform letters
6. Post Completion works to include:
1. Preparing and sending applications to the Land Registry
2. Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions
3. File closures
4. Checking account ledgers
5. Chasing files when requested
6. Ensuring compliance
7. Archiving files if applicable
8. Conducting Conveyancing Searches through online system
9. Conducting Land Registry Searches
10. Completing pre-completion searches
11. Completing SDLT forms online and saving to the matter on OMS
12. Actively prioritising time-sensitive tasks
13. Checking incoming faxes and saving to the correct OMS matter
Skills Required
1. Relevant experience would be an advantage
2. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook is essential
3. Excellent communication skills, well-spoken and personable; able to get on with diverse personalities

Training
Mandatory training such as AML, Customer Service and Data Protection will be provided by the company. External training is supported by the company by prior agreement and where appropriate. Training will also be provided by the team manager where appropriate.
