Mechanical & Electrical Field Service Engineer
In addition to in-house responsibilities as a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, the Service Engineer will be responsible for a range of duties, including installation, commissioning, training, maintenance, and repair of machinery at customer sites. The role also involves remote technical support via email, telephone, and Team Viewer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct technical support to customers via email and phone, collaborating with the Service and Production Managers to develop effective solutions.
* Conduct service activities, including machine assessment, maintenance, and repair, while identifying areas for operational improvement.
* Perform machine installation and commissioning, offering training as needed.
* Prepare and submit accurate service reports.
* Actively represent the company and the service department, promoting product development and technical support to customers.
* Travel internationally as required to support global customers.
* Provide in-house PLC support and implementation for upcoming projects.
* Assist in machine building and wiring as necessary.
* Follow detailed schematics/drawings, capturing any amendments for the design team.
* Wiring machinery panel/control systems, labelling all components in accordance to drawings.
* Electrical testing of electrical/electronic/pneumatic parts and equipment.
* Mechanical assembly, ability to follow technical drawings, capturing any amendments.
* Mechanical assembly of Tablet Counters, Conveyors, Bottle Unscramblers, Tablet Lifts and other bespoke systems.
General Duties:
* Actively contribute to the service team using mechanical and electrical engineering expertise.
* Participate in in-house machine builds and wiring as required.
* Undertake additional duties, training, and working hours as reasonably required, aligning with the responsibilities of the role.
* Comply with the company’s Health and Safety Policy, undertaking relevant safety duties.
* Collaborate with various departments to support company-wide operations.
* Represent the company positively, acting as a brand ambassador.
* Work in line with company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance appraisals.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with the company’s 6S standard for optimal manufacturing practices.
Qualifications & Training:
Essential:
* Proven experience in a manufacturing environment both electrical and mechanical.
* Basic to intermediate IT skills.
* Engineering and/or electrical qualification.
Desirable:
* Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
* PLC programming experience.
