Main duties of the job
To support the organisation with analysis and reporting on a wide range of topics and service areas, and to contribute to improving quality in respect of patient activity data that is captured by community services.
To use SQL and other Microsoft tools to extract data from source systems and the MCH Data Warehouse and to produce analytic reports, visualisations and outline findings on a range of topics.
The post-holder will provide high quality, timely and accurate information to enable Medway Community Healthcare to provide effective patient services.
Job responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To develop and provide statutory and operational reports as well as wider information and analytical services to clinical services and to senior management.
To manage and coach a team of analysts, prioritising workloads autonomously and being responsible for meeting reporting deadlines.
Key role in developing current and future reporting capabilities including:
1. Managing development of new data warehouse
2. Maximising efficiency and opportunities available through new analytical and reporting tools
To help develop a culture that improves quality in respect of data that is captured by community services.
To implement and maintain reporting systems to provide assurance to business units and directorates, committees and the Board.
To make presentations to various staff groups on information management subjects as required.
Post holder will also support and assist in creating and implementing parts of the organisations Digital and Data strategies and delivery of business tools and projects such as capacity planning and local tariffs.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
* Educated to degree level or relevant experience
* Excellent IT skills with intermediate level knowledge of Excel and Power BI
* Knowledge of SQL and coding
* Previous role as an analyst
* Experience of SQL coding at intermediate level
* Experience using SSRS/SSMS/SSAS
Knowledge
* Knowledge of NHS data sources and information
* Knowledge of NHS data protection and information governance
* Experience working in the public sector, particularly healthcare
* Clear understanding of NHS data sources and information flows
Practical and Intellectual skills
* Excellent communication skills and a strong communicator
* Ability to manage and prioritise conflicting and demanding workloads and deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail
* Proactive and solution-focused
* Flexibility and willingness to perform ad-hoc duties as required to support the wider team
* Understand expectations of stakeholders and recognise when issues/events may affect delivery
