Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for a Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis. You will be joining their site based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. About the Project Manager role The successful Project Manager will be responsible for managing the client relationship and delivering the project within the baseline targets to ensure the optimum financial result and client satisfaction. Other responsibilities of the Project Manager include: Ensure an effective handover from the sales team is achieved, whereby the specification, budget and schedule baseline parameters are clearly identified along with the agreed project execution model. Establish and maintain project schedules using appropriate tools such as IFS or MSP. Provide support to sales proposals and bids. Establish, develop and manage the project team and any other key resources assigned to the project. Establish the key project stakeholders and define an appropriate communications plan. About You You will have over 10 years’ experience in engineering with an excellent understanding of the application of mechanical engineering (or other discipline) in the offshore, marine and/or defence sectors. Other requirements of the Project Manager include: As a minimum, educated to an Engineering Degree level. In depth knowledge of project management methodologies and project delivery lifecycles. Excellent understanding of the construct of contracts, commercial law and terms and conditions. Flexible and knowledgeable, able to work across disciplines and share ideas
