Technical Inspector
Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Technical Inspector on behalf of our client based in Stafford, with hybrid working available.
The successful candidate will be required to propose diagnostic solutions to effectively deal with defects in the context of repairs and maintenance, raise works orders and inspections to effectively deal with repairs to the problems encountered.
Hours: Mon-Fri | 37 Hours per week, can be flexible but need to meet business needs | Hybrid working available.
Salary: £38,988.08 per annum.
Duties include but not limited to:
1. In depth technical building diagnostics skills to establish the causation of defects in relation to repairs and maintenance.
2. Propose technical solutions and if necessary, to assist in complex technical inspections as required to assist the customer or operative whilst on site.
3. Raise and manage works arising, right through to completion.
4. Coordinate inspections following diagnostic solutions.
5. Where necessary due to the availability of resources, carry out inspections before, during and after the works to ensure customers receive a high-quality service and that works are delivered in compliance with health and safety.
6. Deliver an effective, well managed and high-quality service to our customers and other internal and external stakeholders.
7. To complete any relevant administrative duties, including letter writing, updating databases, filing, report writing, and preparation of specifications and tenders as required.
8. Meet targets set by the business in terms of performance management, KPI’s.
9. Work closely with other members of the team, and with other departments, to deliver a coordinated service to customers.
10. To provide appropriate advice and assistance to customers and colleagues when dealing with their enquiries in connection with any defects or repairs.
11. Assist in providing technical support to other team members for their inspections.
12. Carry out pre and post inspections to void properties ensuring all voids meet the Homes Plus lettable standard and statutory repairing obligations.
13. Prepare the documentation pack for void properties, to include the EPC’s, gas and electrical certificates and information in relation to asbestos.
Ideal Candidate:
14. HNC qualified within a construction related discipline, with 3 years PQE, or demonstrable experience.
15. Experience of defect diagnosis within domestic buildings.
16. Knowledge of environmental and property legislation, with a focus on housing.
17. Knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety regulations.
18. Understanding of relevant Statutory Regulations relating to Housing providers; including, but not limited to: Asbestos awareness, Building Regulations, Gas and Electrical safety, CDM.
19. Effective interpersonal, skills with ability to communicate with customers, staff, and external contractors at all levels.
20. Ability to drive and holds UK Driving Licence
