The Looked After Children’s Team works with children and families from the initiation of care proceedings. The team is passionate about supporting Looked After Children and has high expectations about what our children and young people can achieve now and in their futures. We strive to build meaningful relationships with the children we work with, as well as working closely with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure that, as corporate parents, we support Looked After Children to achieve the best possible outcomes. We continue to support Looked After Children to a permanency plan, including permanency through Adoption, rehabilitation home, Special Guardianship, or long-term care until they reach the age of 15 and transition to the Leaving Care service.

This Experienced Social Worker post in the Family Support Team/ Looked After Children Team and Assessment Intervention Team attracts a recruitment incentive payment of £2,996 as a welcome to the Council. In certain conditions, an additional retention incentive payment of £2,996 may also be applicable on the anniversary of your appointment if you remain in service in an eligible role/team.
An Enhanced DBS check & Social Care Wales registration is required for this position.
