Why not join us as a Head of Health and Safety? This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Reporting to a relevant Senior Manager, the postholder for this role will be directly responsible for the delivery of the College Group’s Health and Safety function, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the College and its Estates Strategy. The post-holder will be expected to travel to all Weston College sites, therefore a full driving licence is essential for this role. Day to day of the role The principal responsibilities of the post will be to ensure that the department of Health and Safety is: Strategically focused to support the achievement of the College’s key corporate objectives. Well managed and operationally effective, having in place robust and efficient systems and processes relating to all aspects of its activities. Underpinned by a strong service ethos which places its students and staff at the forefront of all its activities. To ensure the Weston College Group’s compliance with legislation, regulations, codes of practice and other advisory codes of practice relating to: Health, Safety and Welfare. Food Hygiene and Environmental Services. Business Continuity and Major Incident Planning, Response and Recovery. Required skills and qualifications Educated to NEBOSH Diploma standard. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar or relatable senior management role. Experience in the management and co-ordination of Environmental, Health and Safety policies within a FE/HE/IFT situation. Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work closely with and support managers and all other staff to achieve compliance with all legal requirements.
