We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic physiotherapist aspiring to pursue a career within acute hospital and community services. We welcome applicants ready for a Band 6 post or those seeking a development opportunity as a transitional step into their first Band 6 role.
We offer a comprehensive Band 6 physiotherapy rotational scheme, which balances the development of specialist knowledge and skills with gaining a diverse experience in a range of care settings.
Main duties of the job
Our rotational scheme comprises seven desirable areas of clinical practice with each one lasting for nine months. The rotations include:
1. Critical Care and Surgery
2. Rapid Response Therapy Service and Frailty Intervention Team
3. Stroke and Neurological rehabilitation
4. Medicine Therapy Service
5. iCares Community services (Pathway 1)
6. Trauma and Orthopaedics
7. Inpatient rehabilitation (Pathway 2)
Each is a friendly team and will offer comprehensive induction and a supportive learning environment.
Successful applicants will play an active role in the development of services and will be part of delivering 7-day services including our out of hours respiratory on-call service.
Successful candidates will also be part of a cohesive peer group with the opportunity to undertake quality improvement project work to support the objectives of the services, Directorate and Clinical Group.
Within this rotational scheme there is an opportunity to request rotations of particular interest and flexible working applications will be supported wherever feasible.
Start dates into this role can also be negotiated for successful candidates.

Essential
11. Sufficient post graduate experience in a rotational post to meet the requirements of the role, including working in an acute hospital environment
12. Working as part of a therapy team and wider MDT
13. Supervision and delegation of work to therapy and support staff
14. Contribution to the education of less experienced staff or under-graduate physiotherapy students
Desirable
15. Involvement in clinical audit
16. Participation in emergency duties
Qualifications
Essential
17. Degree/diploma in physiotherapy
18. HCPC registration
19. Portfolio evidence of CPD
