Job Overview:
The Nursery Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the smooth running of the nursery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early years education and leadership, a passion for childrens development, and the ability to manage and motivate a team of childcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and motivate a team of nursery staff, ensuring high-quality care and education is consistently delivered.
* Oversee the planning and implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to meet the individual needs of all children.
* Ensure the nursery meets all Ofsted and regulatory standards, maintaining the nurserys excellent reputation.
* Develop, implement, and review policies, procedures, and practices to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery.
* Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and maintaining financial sustainability.
* Conduct regular staff appraisals, providing ongoing support, training, and development opportunities for the team.
* Liaise with parents, providing regular updates on their childrens progress and maintaining strong relationships with families.
* Handle day-to-day operational matters, including health and safety, staffing, and compliance with all regulations.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve the nurserys provision and drive continuous improvement.
* Maintain accurate records of childrens progress and development, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
* Stay informed of the latest trends, legislation, and best practices in early years education and childcare.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent as a minimum; higher qualifications such as a Level 5 or 6 in Early Years or a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies is preferred.
* Minimum of 1 years' experience in a leadership or management role within a childcare setting.
* Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Ofsted standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and children.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* A passion for early years education and a genuine commitment to providing the best care for children.
* Ability to manage budgets, financial records, and staffing schedules.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection policies, and health and safety regulations.
* A clear, enhanced DBS check.
Desirable:
* First Aid and Paediatric First Aid certification.
* Experience working with children with additional needs.
* Previous experience in managing or overseeing the operation of a nursery or early years setting.
