To assist the Service Lead for Staff Health and Wellbeing in leading and advancing clinical practice in line with DoH guidelines and legislation. To provide all aspects of nursing care including consultation, advice, education, testing and immunisations where appropriate and in accordance with patient group directives and departmental protocols.
Main duties of the job
* Managing own caseload of complex management referrals for the purpose of sickness absence management through assessment and planning of Occupational Health care of an individual.
* To advise on an individual's fitness to work, rehabilitation and phased return to work programmes, ensuring that appropriate information is provided regarding the Equality Act (EqA) including advice on reasonable adjustment to the workplace.
* To provide professional leadership, advice, support and guidance to the Occupational Health Nurse Advisors and wider multidisciplinary team.
* Act as a professional role model and provide strong, facilitative, and effective clinical leadership.
* To provide health surveillance in accordance with current legislation. To empower Occupational Health Nurse advisors to undertake a wider range of clinical activities by ensuring appropriate training, updating, and monitoring of relevant training programmes.

* RN, ROH. Registration on Part 1 & 3 of NMC register.
* Degree / Diploma in Occupational Health
Experience

* Extensive post-graduate nursing experience to include proven previous OH work experience
* Supervisory experience
* Occupational health experience in the NHS.
* Ability to make OH decisions
* Health surveillance experience

* Good communication skills - oral and written
