Role: Advanced Paediatric Dietitian Site: The Portland Hospital, Central London Hours: Full time for 37.5 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience with Excellent Benefits We’re looking for a Advanced Paediatric Dietitian to join our team at the Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. This is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare needs of women, children and their families. Our experienced team of over 600 consultants are supported by the latest in diagnostic technology including MRI, CT and interventional radiology scanners. The services include Maternity, Children's Health, Neonatal Medicine, Women's Health and Fertility Clinics As a Advanced Paediatric Dietitian, you will provide expert assessment, management and education for paediatric patients requiring specialist dietetic and nutrition intervention by using evidence based practice and conforming to best practice guidelines. You will also routinely complete research and development by initiating, planning and undertaking clinical audits/research projects to evaluate and develop the specialist dietetic service and produce evidence based resources, policies and guidelines. In addition to this, you will also have the opportunity to provide education and training to dietitians, student dietitians and other healthcareprofessionals (HCPs) to facilitate continuous learning and development. Job Responsibilities: Provide up-to-date evidence-based specialist nutrition advice to patients, their carers and other health professionals. Formulate tailored nutritional care and education, and prescribe nutrition support. Collect and interpret anthropometry (plot weight and length/height), request and interpret biochemistry, clinical and nutrition history. Prioritise and manage a paediatric clinical caseload which may include, NICU, PICU, neuro rehabilitation, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, cardiology and parenteral nutrition. Ketogenic experience desirable. Covering inpatients and outpatients Manage patients on oral, enteral and parenteral nutrition support and contribute to Nutrition Team rounds. Compare normal nutritional requirements in childhood and interpret these during illness and according to the disease process and admitting Consultants clinical plan.
