Are you passionate about teaching students the skills of cooking, design, and creativity? Do you have a passion for both food technology and textiles? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology/Textiles Teacher to join the team in a secondary school based in Braintree.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach Food Technology and Textiles to secondary school students.
2. Develop exciting and engaging lesson plans that promote practical skills in cooking, nutrition, and design.
3. Encourage creativity and innovation through design and making projects in both food and textiles.
4. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
5. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
6. Work collaboratively with the department to plan and deliver cross-curricular projects and events.
7. Inspire students to reach their full potential.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialisation in Food Technology, Textiles, Design & Technology, or a related field.
* Experience working within education.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
* GCSE or equivalent at grade C (Pass) or above.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students' academic and emotional development.
* Strong knowledge of food science, cooking techniques, textiles, and design.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Passion for teaching and inspiring students in practical and creative subjects.
