We're looking for a visionary Head of Bids & Proposals to be a crucial element to our organisation's future growth and success.
What's the opportunity? In this role, you'll take the reins of our bidding process and non-procurement pipeline, fuelling innovation and expansion across the business. Collaborating closely with our Commercial Directorate, you'll be tasked with expanding existing service lines and uncovering new growth avenues. It's an incredible chance for seasoned professionals in business development and bid management to apply their expertise in commercial model development, bid strategy, and the launch of new services.
Main duties of the job
* Lead and co-ordinate multi million-pound bid submissions, ensuring that the commercial team maintain control and ownership of all bidding opportunities.
* Be accountable for bid and proposal responses to be appropriately responded to on time.
* Provide Executive and Board level assurance of the forthcoming pipeline and live tenders/proposals.
* Understand Procurement policies/frameworks, including the Provider Selection Regime, and support the development of a self-assessment and output required.
* Create a bid narrative with SME support ensuring that the bid reads as one, and meets the service specification and vision.
* Lead on proposal strategy, the bid/no bid and qualify out process ensuring the right checkpoints are undertaken and auditable.
* Lead service design workshops ensuring models developed meet the commissioner requirements and are both operationally delivered and clinically safe.
* Work closely with the Head of Commercial Modelling to ensure that the commercial offer reflects the bid/proposal and has a clear strategy, including risks and rewards.

Salary and Benefits

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* 5 years + of multi million-pound successful bid development and management.
* NHS / Healthcare market experience.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent (inc. APMP qualification).
* Awareness and understanding of commissioning processes and landscape.
* Sound judgement as to where resource is best targeted to achieve results.
* Experience of working at a senior and influential level with stakeholders.
* Proficient in use of Microsoft applications.
* Excellent written English and presentation skills and experience of presenting compelling business cases to senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to clearly communicate the outputs of models to senior management, including the ability to develop presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Well-organised with good project management skills.
* Ability to work credibly with senior managers and form strong personal relationships, both internally and externally.
* Self-starter, highly motivated and able to work independently.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative manner, including at senior management level.
* Experience of prioritising and responding flexibly to frequently changing demands.
* Capability to work from own initiative and plan own time productively and effectively.
* Ability to meet demanding timescales, workload and deadlines.
