Assistant Project Manager - CIVILS Location: Portsmouth Job Type: Full-timeIt's an exciting time to join our Clients team as the engage on industry leading civil engineering projects This role is ideal for dynamic and forward-thinking individuals who are ready to support major civil infrastructure projects and contribute to the successful delivery of their works. Day-to-day of the role: Support the Project Manager in managing responsibilities under the NEC contract. Engage in effective communication with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. Contribute to the planning and development phases of the project. Assist in the coordination and management of project activities. Manage various ad hoc projects from concept to completion, ensuring successful delivery. Represent the department at various Sub-Group meetings. Monitor pipeline works and coordinate activities through regular stakeholder meetings. Produce and support monthly progress reports and governance approval papers. Lead procurement, monitoring, and performance of NEC contracts. Support the design interface with approved suppliers. Utilise CEMAR contract management software for effective communication. Liaise with external stakeholders to secure agreement or acceptance of plans associated with the reservoir scheme. Ensure a seamless handover of the project into operation upon completion. Maintain project development in accordance with Portsmouth Water standards, specifications, and policies. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, design, or a related field. Demonstrable experience in major civil infrastructure projects. Experience with NEC contract management is desirable. Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., MICE, APM, PMI). Project management qualification (PRINCE, APM, or PMI). Full driving licence and ability to pass our driver assessment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build excellent relationships. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of fostering collaborative working. Proven project management capabilities and working knowledge of planning software and techniques.
