We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent, Waste Operative to join our team in Surrey. This role is based on site at our Mole Valley Depot (Station Road, Dorking RH4 1EH).
This position offers a competitive salary and overtime.
In this role, you will support the Surrey account as a Waste Operative and you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our community in Surrey. By efficiently managing waste and ensuring that it is properly segregated and disposed of, you play a vital part in protecting the environment and the health of local residents. Your efforts help to keep public spaces tidy and free from hazardous materials, which in turn enhances the overall quality of life for everyone in the area. Additionally, through the support and implementation of recycling programs and waste reduction initiatives, you contribute to the sustainable management of resources, fostering a greener and more eco-friendly community for future generations.
What You’ll Do:
* Waste management tasks and the overall cleanliness of the highways.
* Collecting and disposing of waste materials from streets, roads, and public areas in a safe and efficient manner.
* Operating waste collection vehicles and equipment according to safety guidelines.
* Monitoring and reporting any hazardous waste or illegal dumping activities to the relevant authorities.
* Ensuring that all waste is segregated and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.
* Conducting routine maintenance checks on waste management equipment and reporting any faults or necessary repairs.
* Assisting in the planning and implementation of waste reduction initiatives and recycling programs.
