An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Anson McCade as a Network Security Engineer, playing a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of high-profile systems.
You will work within an expert Information Management team, protecting vital infrastructure against evolving cyber threats and ensuring the security of cutting-edge technologies.
Your Role as a Network Security Engineer:
Design, implement, and oversee network security measures that ensure protection across all systems.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to detect vulnerabilities, address security incidents, and enhance existing security frameworks.
* Configure and manage firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto) and secure proxy services (BlueCoat, F5) to fortify network defences.
* Apply advanced firewall capabilities, such as intrusion prevention systems (IPS), SSL traffic inspection, and deep packet analysis, to proactively guard against threats.
* Ensure adherence to industry standards and internal policies, while safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining secure network infrastructure.
Key Skills Required:
* Strong grasp of core networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VLANs, and load balancing.
* Proficient in configuring and maintaining firewall solutions, with a solid understanding of troubleshooting techniques.
* Expertise in security protocols such as VPNs, IPSec, and SSL/TLS, along with familiarity with multi-factor authentication.
* Experience working with secure proxy platforms and tools to monitor network traffic and enforce content filtering.
* Skilled in using network monitoring and security tools like PRTG and Nagios.
* Knowledge of network architectures, including security zones and DMZ implementations.
Network Security Engineer Package:
* £60,000 - £70,000 base salary
* Company bonus over 20%
* Hybrid working, 1-2 days per week on-site
