TimePlan is working closely with a SEND school in Wellingborough seeking a full time Teaching Assistant to begin with them after Easter. The position is within a primary setting, ages 5 to 11 years and it will be as a learning support assistant for a child with ADHD & SEMH.
Duties
Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of each child
Provide support to the child during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and participating fully
Help with the care and supervision of children, promoting their social, emotional, and physical development
Work closely with children who have special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, to facilitate their learning and development
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive learning environment
Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist in assessing children's progress and reporting any concerns to the lead teacher
Be flexible and cater to the child's need.Skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children and adults alike
Experience in SEND schools or a healthcare background is highly desirable
Ability to educate and inspire young learners through creative teaching methods
Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for working with children who have diverse learning needs
