ABOUT THE ROLE
As previously mentioned, this is an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join my contractor client based in Islington. This opportunity has come about due to ongoing growth & a large pipeline of projects being won. You will be initially joining their environmental team, working on projects that will need individuals who are passional for landscape transformation in external spaces to encourage public and environmental interactions. The project value will range but it will be around £1M – £5M per scheme. This is an opportunity that allows successful candidates to work on prestigious projects such as Battersea Power Station and the Tate Modern.
Some of your duties will involve managing a small commercial team involving Quantity Surveyors, Assistants, Juniors & graduates, you will need to supervise, mentor, and encourage all junior staff in their personal professional development. On top of this, you will co-operate with, report to, and implement the reasonable directives of the Regional Director/Manager and the Commercial Manager (functional reporting). You will also liaise with contracts management in the day-to-day commercial administration of contracts to ensure the financial success of construction operations and to keep the Commercial Manager appraised of all material events.
REQUIREMENTS
You will be working for a specialist contractor who has built its reputation due to the quality of their work. This means you will be working with some of the best professionals in the industry, allowing you to improve and develop. Your industry knowledge will improve due to the diversity of works, the opportunity to work on a variety of landscaping projects as well highways and other forms of civil engineering projects, which will also make your skillset diverse. Due to a large pipeline of work my client can offer you long-term stability, this will also allow you to progress and develop. The firm is offering successful candidates a salary of £65,000 – £75,000 + package to join their business.

You must have experience working for a contractor based in the UK, ideally with experience in working in soft/hard landscaping. I am also looking for someone who has good stability on their CV and is eager to develop their experience in the industry. You will be working on NEC forms of contracts so in-depth knowledge of this is vital. On top of this, a good standard of education is also essential, I am looking for someone who had a Quantity Surveying & Commercial Manager related degree.
