Senior Planner – Energy

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our team and take responsibility for the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects under a major utilities framework. This role will support the Operational and Project Management teams in ensuring the timely delivery of projects, including OHL builds, underground cable installations, civils works, and substation construction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with objectives and deadlines.
* Use planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software.
* Monitor project progress and provide regular updates on critical paths, risks, and potential delays.
* Recommend mitigation strategies to address risks and delays effectively.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project workflows.
* Prepare and present project performance reports and schedule forecasts.
* Ensure planning integrates seamlessly with contract terms and project objectives.
* Maintain a high standard of attention to detail and organization in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications and Experience
* Software Skills: Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning software.
* Education: Degree-qualified or equivalent in a relevant field.
* Experience: Minimum of 6 years in project planning within utilities, infrastructure, or major projects valued at £5 million or more.
* Strong background in working with contractors.
* Ability to manage a varied and busy workload while delivering to tight deadlines.
* Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required.

* Framework Scope: A large-scale utilities framework covering Dorset and Hampshire.
* Project Value: £180 million over four years, with potential for extension up to eight years.
* Current Stage: Feasibility and design phase, with 26 teams currently active.
* Future Work: 80+ schemes ranging from £500k substation extensions to £8-9 million new builds.
* Base Location: Andover.
