Role Location: To ensure you receive the highest level of training, support & development for the Software Design Engineer position, you will be required to work from our Bristol office 3 or 4 days per week. The Opportunity: As a Software Design Engineer, you will be working within our Defence team and will work closely with our Defence customers to assist, influence, and provide guidance to their design and modelling challenges. Working alongside our experienced Software Engineers and Architects to specify and develop the correct approach to their problem spaces and assisting where modelling or solution development provides the appropriate level of benefit. Other typical responsibilities include: Supporting with the design & delivery aspects of web and low-code based solutions, in particular system integration, business process and user experience. Working with business stakeholders to provide technical solutions that deliver business needs. Participating in workshops with developers, consultants and customers to elaborate problems, model end-to-end business processes or design solutions. Support the creation of data architecture to support solution development. Understanding a customers requirements and translating them into business language and solutions. You will have: A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a STEM-related subject with a minimum 2:1 classification or equivalent work experience. Experience using SQL, HTML, and Java. Ability to build relationships and effective team outcomes. Analytical skills and attention to detail. Verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation, presentation, and documentation. Be a highly motivated and motivating individual. Ambitious, driven, and professional individual who demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment. Due to the industries we work in, we require the successful candidate to be able to obtain high level security clearance.
