We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Portuguese speaking Human Resources Manager to join a successful manufacturing and export company. You will be responsible for all human resources operations for both their UK & Portugal based offices.
Location of the job
Hybrid work - UK office is in Cambridge, ideally 3 days a week in the office + 2 days a week work from home /remote.

Job responsibilities of the Portuguese speaking Human Resources Manager
As Portuguese speaking Human Resources Manager you will have 100% control of all employee HR operations for the office and manufacturing facility in Portugal as well as the UK office.
You role will typically include the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Overseeing recruitment, selection and the onboarding process
2. Managing a company’s appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings
3. Ensuring that a company’s procedures comply with employment regulations
4. Monitoring various aspects of an employee’s performance, such as attendance and sick leave
5. Accessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs accordingly
6. Handling any disciplinary processes and formal grievances
7. Setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits
8. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with UK employment laws and regulations.
9. Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including job analysis, job descriptions, job postings, and applicant screening and interviewing in accordance with UK employment law
10. Manage employee relations issues in compliance with Portugal and UK employment law, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
11. Complete Human Resource administrative tasks and maintain and update Human Resource related correspondence.
12. Process work visa applications where necessary.
The successful candidate background
13. Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential
14. Previous HR management level experience in both the UK and Portugal
15. Excellent knowledge of all employment law and HR related regulations relating to both Portugal and the UK
16. Knowledge of payroll, compensation and benefits relating to both the UK and Portugal
17. CIPD qualified advantage but not essential
18. IT Proficient (including MS Office)
19. Exceptional organisation skills
20. Strong ability to prioritise workload
21. Excellent attitude to work and colleagues
22. Ability to travel to Portugal office when required
Salary, benefits and working hours
Negotiable - £45,000 - £55,000.
