We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Estates and Facilities Team based in Coventry.
The Maintenance Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting the Maintenance Operations Manager. You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance, and supporting installations of facility plant and site services.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician you will:
1. Perform daily preventative and breakdown maintenance activities on workshop and plant equipment.
2. Carry out mechanical repairs on plant equipment.
3. Work alongside external contractors to ensure facility repairs, renewals, and maintenance are carried out in respect to MTC instruction and standards.
4. In conjunction with the Health and Safety team, review external contractors’ health and safety documentation prior to work commencing on site.
5. Ensure high standards of housekeeping, work quality, and work attitude.
6. Carry out fault diagnosis and problem-solving on facility plant.
7. Respond to breakdowns and ad-hoc maintenance requests across all sites.
8. Produce service reports for all work carried out.
9. Support problem-solving activities on equipment or system faults.
10. Carry out annual services on facility plant.
11. Carry out statutory legislative inspections on plant.
12. Complete required training and development to maintain competency in the role.
13. Use a company mobile phone/tablet or laptop to log, close, and update work orders on a CAFM system.
14. Liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required and clearly communicate technical issues.
15. Ensure that work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies, and procedures.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate who is/has:
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
1. Previous experience in a maintenance role.
2. Relevant recognised L3 qualifications in the appropriate mechanical maintenance disciplines.
3. Ability to work at height.
4. Full UK Driver's License is essential to the role.
5. Provide standby cover out of hours on a 24/7 rota basis in case of emergencies and be flexible to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness.
6. Willingness to learn and progress in an ever-changing environment.
7. Able to read and interpret schematic drawings, electrical & mechanical.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience
1. Refrigerant certification/qualification such as HVAC.
2. Electrical qualifications such as part 1 & 2 electrical.
3. Knowledge of plumbing, boilers, and water treatment systems with the ability to repair and maintain.
4. IOSH Working Safely.
