As a warehouse operative, you are vital to the safe and efficient movement of our parcels in our depots. You are a crucial cog in ensuring that DPD provides a service that genuinely makes a difference to our customers. Unloading incoming deliveries from various vehicles, including lorries and vans
● Sorting parcels according to their destination and priority
● Operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided)
● Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies
● Assisting in the training of new team members as required
● As a warehouse operative, you will find that no two days are the same. Equipped with all the tools needed to do the job, you will be required to handle parcels of various sizes and weights, ensuring their journey through our network is safe and swift.
Our depots operate 365 days a year, and as part of our warehouse team, you will be required to work shifts. Flexibility and adaptability to work across various areas of the warehouse
● Knowledge of Health and Safety practices within a warehouse environment would be advantageous
● Basic computer literacy for operating computerised systems
● Previous warehouse or logistics experience is beneficial but not essential
● Willingness to learn and operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
● Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and walk long distances during shifts
