Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to set up a new co-pack startup within our new site at Harworth. You will contribute to the success of the site and business by managing the day-to-day running of the Co-Pack Department, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met in accordance with QA and safety standards. This can be a challenging role as you could be overseeing a multitude of contracts at once; therefore, you will need to be adaptable and a problem solver.
To be successful in this role you will need to ensure the construction and delivery of the products meets the high standards of the customer.
What will you be doing?
* Effectively motivate, lead and manage the co-pack operations team.
* Ensure the final product meets client specifications.
* Maximise production efficiency to ensure the plan is met on an hourly/daily basis.
* Act as the initial point of contact with the customer.
* Manage the operation in line with the Quality Management System, including quality records and checks.
* Utilise the onsite Warehouse Management systems effectively.
* Provide capacity plans in line with customer forecasts, highlighting future resource constraints.
* Ensure products meet agreed quality standards.
* Plan labour to maximise production efficiency and manage changeover of lines/products.
* Liaise with other key departments and customers regarding the production plan.
* Plan and manage labour resourcing against the production plan to meet customer requirements.
* Communicate production process efficiency targets and ensure they are delivered.
* Liaise with internal departments to provide effective communication of production requirements.
* Utilise systems available to drive continuous improvement in all areas of the co-pack operation.
* Ensure compliance with hygienic audits, GMP, and housekeeping standards.
* Maintain up-to-date training/skills matrices and manage any gaps to support the development of production workers.
* Communicate plans with customers and site operations to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
* Ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications
* Flexibility to cover various areas within the warehouse and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
* Team player capable of working on their own initiative.
* Demonstrated knowledge of on-site systems.
* Able to work to tight deadlines.
* PC literate in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Drive and desire to progress.
* Flexible approach to work and shift patterns.
* Ability to lead a team, delegate, supervise functions, and keep staff motivated.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
