The Role:
The School of Education, Languages and Linguistics (SELL) is seeking to recruit Bank Hourly Paid or Fixed-Term Sessional Teaching Fellows to contribute as a member of the teaching team to the delivery, administration and assessment of elements of programmes delivered within the School, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Depending on the applicant, this could involve teaching specialised areas of the curriculum related to your expertise, or more general cover for teaching across our courses when required.
The appointee may deliver teaching on a range of courses within the School. The topics offered would be subject to the skills, expertise and experience of the successful candidate. Preference would be given to candidates having expertise and experience in one or more of the following subject areas:
- Social Work
- Early Childhood Studies and Childhood and Youth Studies, especially educational psychology, and youth work and policy
- Initial Teacher Education
- Public Administration (to contribute to the MPA provision)
- TESOL
- Linguistics, including Media Discourse
- Modern Foreign Languages: Spanish and Translation, Japanese, Korean.
The number of hours worked is flexible, dependent on the School’s needs and by negotiation. If you have experience of teaching and assessment within an HE setting, in a relevant subject area, and are keen to use those skills to enhance our current provision, we would be interested to receive an application from you.
