Due to the expansion of one of my client's sites in Berkshire, we are looking for a Critical M&E Shift Leader to work for a leading facilities company. The successful candidate will be a responsible member of the shift-based team operating on a 24/7 basis, delivering high-caliber essential maintenance services within a designated section of this critical site. Ensuring a speedy response to fault/breakdown requests and efficiently undertaking routine and scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment is of paramount importance. Leading up to the building going into operation, the candidate will be undertaking training, familiarizing themselves with the building and its systems, assisting the Shift Supervisor with creating processes and building setup, witnessing/shadowing the commissioning activities, and reviewing documentation from the project.
You must be able to pass CTC Clearance.
Duties:
1. Conduct preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis and manage the corrective action and reports or quotes required.
2. Support and facilitate technical subcontractors/vendors during planned or reactive service visits and minor works while ensuring they conform to the site procedures and agreed method statements.
3. Complete work orders within the designated work windows.
4. Monitor, maintain, investigate, acknowledge, and adjust as deemed necessary the BMS and SCADA.
5. Perform routine tests of the data centre temperatures, humidity, and space conditions, ensuring they are maintained and recorded in accordance with the business requirements of the infrastructure.
6. Undertake daily plant walk rounds to note and proactively repair any defects and maintain plant rooms in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.
7. Manage, rectify, and record defects through the helpdesk to ensure SLA timeframes are always met.
8. Provide rapid and effective responses to customer and helpdesk requirements.
9. Review RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements) and subcontractor competencies before work permits are authorized.
10. Escalate any issues that affect the availability, health, safety, and security of the site.
11. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
12. Adhere to all current company and Critical Engineering Management policies and procedures and take an active approach in the continuous improvement of these procedures.
Requirements:
1. Trade trained with ideally 3 years' experience in building services.
2. City & Guilds Qualified Electrical Level 3.
3. Good building services knowledge.
4. Excellent client-facing skills.
5. 5 years' experience in hard and soft services facilities management.
