If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are a well-established truck rental service provider, looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Semi-Skilled Yardman to our growing team. You will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of our yard operations. This includes loading, unloading, and organising vehicles, assisting with general maintenance, and ensuring health and safety protocols are followed. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys practical work in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Managing yard operations, including loading/unloading and organizing vehicles. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Assisting with general maintenance, repairs, and basic engineering tasks. Operating machinery and vehicles in the yard, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Supporting the team with various yard duties. Presenting vehicles for MOT inspections. Traveling to collect parts and take drivers when required. Providing assistance to engineers and mechanics as required. The Company CVME was established in 1982 by Philip Browning carrying out servicing, repairs and modifications to commercial vehicles. In 1985 a customer operating several removal vans was unable to settle his account so asked if a removal van would be acceptable as payment. This was accepted and the start of the rental company as a spot hire removal truck. Over the years CVME has added a range of vehicles to its already growing fleet which is now in excess of 450 vehicles offering 4x2, 6x2 tractor units. The Person Must be hardworking, driven, and possess strong time-keeping and organizational skills. Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and Class 1 driving license are required. Hands-on skills with technical competence are essential. Basic knowledge of engineering or mechanics is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn; training will be provided, but a base understanding of technical and mechanical tasks is a plus.
