A market-leading British manufacturing business is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to drive a strong safety culture across its operations. The Role
As the HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while driving continuous improvement across the site. This hands-on position requires a proactive leader who can engage employees at all levels, embed a behavioural-based safety culture, and provide expert guidance to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct risk assessments, compliance reviews, and safety audits.
* Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and training programs.
* Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and drive preventative measures.
* Deliver toolbox talks and behavioural-based safety training.
* Ensure all safety equipment and PPE are maintained and used correctly.
* Develop a comprehensive HSE communication strategy across all levels of the business.
* Chair monthly HSE meetings and drive key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Support the business in meeting ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 standards.
* Act as the CDM Coordinator under relevant regulations.
* Maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, and regulatory agencies.
About You
Were looking for a proactive and experienced HSE professional with:
* A relevant degree and IOSH qualifications.
* Proven experience in a HSE management role within a heavy industry environment.
* Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001), and ideally ISO 14001.
* Outstanding leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
* The ability to engage with employees at all levels to drive a positive safety culture.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
