The role
There is an exciting new opportunity for an Application Support Analyst within the Technology Services team at Macmillan to support our warehouse and business systems. We have been live with our Blue Yonder (Red Prairie, JDA) Warehouse Management System (WMS) for seven months and are now looking for an experienced IT professional to join our team to support and improve the application’s performance within our distribution centre on the outskirts of Swansea.
The role is to support, administer, monitor, maintain and operate the smooth and efficient running of all warehouse systems in MDL to agreed service levels, particularly the Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System to ensure they operate with minimal disruption. Support the local and wider IT teams in ensuring that software, hardware and IT infrastructure are effective and maintained to the required levels.
The role will work closely with system users, internal IT teams, and suppliers, to ensure that business systems, particularly Blue Yonder, are actively meeting the requirements of the operation, as well as participating in change processes to improve system and operational performance, where achievable.
The person
We are looking for an IT professional who has a minimum of three years of industry experience within IT and has achieved a good standard of academic achievement in English and Maths. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked with the Blue Yonder application but who most definitely have a good working knowledge of SQL. At a minimum, we would expect candidates to have experience in warehouse management systems and preferably within a logistics environment.
As this role will have lots of customer interaction, we are looking for someone who can collaborate with teams to ensure a thorough documented understanding of processes and requirements and deliver system performance to match. Although this role will be part of a global IT team, the team supporting Blue Yonder is small so a keen eye for detail and being flexible to support team members is crucial.
At MDL, we are committed to supporting our teams in personal and professional development, and would expect the successful candidate to be willing and able to develop both internally and externally.
Hours of work
Hybrid working is offered with three onsite days and operational collaboration and understanding is very much encouraged. There is some flexibility with working hours but 9am-5pm Monday to Friday are preferred hours, with occasional out-of-hours working required.
