Location: Manchester
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week

Are you a technically skilled CAD engineer, looking to enhance productivity and efficiency of process in a well-established company? My client is looking for a CAD Designer to join their team in the vehicle bodybuilding industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and development of custom vehicle bodies. You will be responsible for creating detailed CAD designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, as well as generating a parts and materials list for customers to support both the sales quoting and manufacturing processes.
Duties
1. Create detailed CAD designs for vehicle bodies to support the sales quoting process.
2. Utilise CAD engineering drawings to build a parts and materials list to enhance the quoting process.
3. Develop engineering drawings and technical specifications for production to minimise manufacturing downtime once the customer quote has been approved.
4. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand design requirements and constraints.
5. Ensure all designs meet relevant regulations and are compliant.
6. Work closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
7. Assist in product development and innovation for improved vehicle body designs.
8. Conduct design reviews, stress analysis, and material selection assessments.
9. Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control.
Required Qualifications
1. Previous experience in CAD design.
2. Proficiency in relevant CAD software.
3. Robust understanding of fabrication, metalwork, and vehicle body structures.
4. Regulatory Awareness.
5. Ability to develop practical solutions for custom vehicle designs.
6. Great communication skills, with the ability to liaise with sales teams, production teams, suppliers, and clients.
