The Competitions and Matches Co-Ordinator will play a key role in the day-to-day member experience. The main aim of the role is to oversee the effective and successful administration of all member golfing competitions and matches.
This role is an interesting and varied position that offers the ideal candidate an opportunity to gain broad operational experience. The position is ideal for an aspiring Golf Club Manager progressing their career in the industry.
The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the Club’s aspirations to be recognised as one of the best private members clubs in the South East and will be given the freedom and support to have a big impact. Excellent organisational, inter-personal and planning skills are vital and an understanding of golf will be essential.
Responsibilities
1. Act as the primary point of contact for the organisation, administration and accurate recording of all Club competitions.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for the administration and accurate recording of all playing member handicaps through the WHS Platform.
3. Assist in the organisation, administration and accounting of over 100 annual matches played between Moor Park Golf Club and other clubs.
4. Support the Golf Manager and Membership & Competitions Manager with a range of office duties to ensure the smooth running of the Club administration.
5. Assist with the creation and organisation of the Club diary electronically and paper version. This encompasses the management, organisation and planning of Club competitions, Club matches, fixture lists and daily tee sheet management.
6. Must possess a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the game of golf, its competitive formats and traditions within a private members club.
7. Support with entering members in external events and managing away scores as required.
8. To act as a primary point of contact for members and to promote the Club internally and externally in a professional and friendly manner, enhancing the reputation of the Club beyond the day-to-day administration.
9. Attend, actively participate and where required take minutes in all relevant committee meetings, including Golf, Junior, and Tennis Committee. Meeting minutes to be distributed within 5 business working days.
10. To assist with establishing industry best practice to all areas of the Club’s activities and play a pivotal role in delivering the Club’s operational, financial, and strategic goals.
11. Given the nature of weekend competitive play at the Club, a flexible approach towards evening and weekend work at times is essential.

1. Demonstrable ability to forge relationships across the membership and to be able to represent the Club at all levels.
2. Excellent communication & organisational skills.
3. Golf rules and Competition experience.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication.
5. Strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to manage varied workload and meet objectives.
7. A creative mindset with ‘can do’ attitude.
Desirable skills for this role:
1. Previous experience within golf or member club environment.
2. A qualification related to the industry.
3. Experience with industry specific golf administration software, such as Intelligent Golf and Golf Genius, is highly desirable.
